Why be a Stork Baby surrogate?

At Stork Baby, we only use surrogates/gestational carriers who do not use their own eggs, so they aren’t related to the baby. This also makes it easy to give the baby back to their intended parents at the end of the surrogacy journey. The attachment is different, knowing the baby is not biologically yours. Both parties (the gestational carrier and the intended parents) are protected by a legal contract.

How does matching work?

A questionnaire is given to both intended parents and surrogates, so that a Stork Baby match can be made that meets everyone’s expectations. At times, the intended parents want to be involved and attend every doctor’s appointment.

Other times, both parties wish to remain more distant and have limited contact. It is important that the right match be made, and we work very hard to make sure we help both parties find the right fit.

Our process.

01 Application/ Pre-screening

You will send in your application and then have an initial conversation with someone on our Stork Baby team.

02 Psychological Evaluation

We will do an interview with you and then arrange for a psychological evaluation, which the IVF clinic requires.

03 Matching with intended parents

Once the screening process is complete and the psychological evaluation is done, Stork Baby will match you with intended parents, and you will have an initial Zoom meeting with them and your Stork Baby representative.

04 Medical Screening and IVF clinic approval

The next step is the IVF clinic of the intended parents will do a medical evaluation and will review your previous pregnancy and delivery history and medical records.

Once the IVF clinic approves you, you will move onto the legal process and the legal contracts with the intended parents. The intended parents will pay for the cost of the contracts and for your attorney to represent you during the process.

06 Medical Appointments, Medications and Embryo Transfer

Once the legal process is complete, you can move onto the medical part of the surrogacy, which sometimes entails birth control pills and also giving yourself shots that will prepare your body for pregnancy. The embryo transfer itself is a quick procedure that is done in the IVF clinic.
